Our business is split across four main areas:
Audit

Our Audit service is split into three teams:
Business services
Variety best describes the work of this team. You could be involved in the audit of any organisation from a multi-national listed company to a fast-growing scale-up Our clients include natural resource companies, tech companies, professional practices and retailers. We are one of the leading advisors to listed businesses in the UK, according to the Corporate Adviser Rankings Guide, and the 7th largest auditor to LSE listed companies.
Your work could range from conducting audits at clients’ premises to preparing management or statutory accounts.
With every audit, you’ll gain a deeper insight into each stage of the process, and a broader view of the businesses we work for. As your experience grows, so will your opportunities.
You could, for example:
- Assist our corporate finance teams and litigation experts
- Work on an international contract via our membership of PKF International – a global family of independent accounting firms
- Work on an assignment for the European Commission.
Financial services
We have one of the largest specialist insurance teams in the professional services industry and are the largest auditor of insurance intermediaries in the UK, working with many of the UK’s Top 50 brokers and Top 10 MGAs.
We advise clients across the insurance industry, including insurance companies, syndicates and other Lloyd’s entities, mutual insurers, brokers and agents.
We provide external audit services to asset managers, private equity funds, corporate finance firms, and other FCA authorised businesses. We also provide internal audit services to a number of major insurance companies and brokers; and we are a leading firm in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market.
Your work could range from auditing a corporate capital vehicle for a Lloyd’s Name, or a private equity fund, to helping with complex technical work involved in a firm’s application for FCA authorisation. Or you might help new founders of an insurtech optimise their business structure to maximise the use of tax breaks and investor incentives.
Not for profit
Our not for profit team has extensive experience in providing audit and advisory services. We are committed to working with government, public sector and not for profit entities, both in the UK and overseas, and act for a wide range of clients including academies, charities, donor agencies, membership organisations and the public sector. You could also work on an assignment for the European Commission.
The team is led by partners who have extensive first-hand experience in the sector. This enables us to understand the challenging environment these organisations face, which is heightened by an increasing demand for services.
Tax
Tax
Our tax team provides VAT, corporate tax compliance, personal tax compliance and consultancy services to a wide range of clients and prides itself on the quality of service, high degree of professionalism and personal approach that is offered to each and every client.
As you progress, your portfolio could range from tax compliance work, to providing advice and practical assistance on more complex issues. This could include providing advice around areas such as the acquisition or disposal of assets in a business, corporate reorganisations, group tax planning shareholder exit strategies or contentious disputes with HMRC.

This team comprises our business support functions, including internal accounts, secretarial and admin support, IT helpdesk, technical and training, human resources and business development.
Our business development team develops and delivers divisional marketing communications plans into target markets, coordinates and supports marketing and sales activity, manages divisional event programmes, and helps to develop our website. It also drives our relationship management process, ensuring partners actively develop their relationships with prospective clients and key advisers, as well as adopting and coordinating best practice as part of our tender process. It also supports the development of our client service review programme and opportunity assessments.
“If you’re looking for a role that challenges you in a supportive environment, PKF is an excellent choice.”
