Business Services Transaction Services Team

The Transaction Services team at PKF is a growing team consisting of three Partners, two of which were recently promoted from within. The team primarily carries out Reporting Accountant work (IPOs), Financial Due diligence on the buy side and Valuations. The transaction sizes range from £1m to £100m with several of clients having mark caps in the hundreds of millions. The team is full of outgoing and committed individuals who enjoy the project-based work, client relationship building and the social opportunities it offers. We are looking to grow further to support the work we are winning.

Purpose and Aim of Job

To support the TS team and enable them to grow the existing size of the client portfolio which gives the potential for larger and more varied projects
Over time the you will progress to take on more responsibility and progress within the team

Job Duties and Responsibilities

To carry out the onsite due diligence work
To prepare written reports to a high standard
To prepare valuation reports to a high standard
To assess financial models and report over them to client specifications
To review and critically assess IFRS Financial information and fully audited financial statements for inclusion in listing documents
To participate in thought leadership, meetings and events that may be early morning or late evening
To carry out meetings with client and target management, initially alongside the TS Partners or Managers
Open to business travel to the USA, Africa and Asia

Responsibilities or involvement in Management

To manage junior staff as appropriate
To participate in growing the team as appropriate
To take on managing transactions in due course and being the primary liaison with the client on that transaction
To participate in regular TS relationship management / pipeline meetings hosted by the marketing team

Communication and Business Relationships required

To be a good communicator and willing to work alongside clients in high pressure situations
To be able to have sensible conversations with senior staff but also be able to get the best out of junior team members
To be able to network with board members (CEO and CFO in particular), PE firms or the like and to maintain those relationships
To be able to write clear and concise business reports
Be able to deliver analysis and reports written to the TS Partners and clients if required
Liaise with other Advisors in involved in the transactions in a business and relationship building forum

Job Knowledge Required

To have worked with a range of business sectors and company sizes
To be able to demonstrate an understanding of the commercial aspects of a business e.g. what makes it work
To be able to analyse large amounts of data and provide clear and concise findings
Knowledgeable of valuation techniques
Objective and sceptical viewpoint of information presented
