Foreign Corrupt Practices Act

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) was passed in 1977. There has been increased level of investigation and prosecution of FCPA breaches by the US Department of Justice and Securities Exchange Commission in recent years. In this state of heightened scrutiny it is imperative for companies and individuals to ensure that they have stringent procedures in place to comply with the FCPA.

The two main provisions of the FCPA relate to the requirements for accounting transparency and the bribery of foreign officials.
