No-one would expect an unqualified teacher to teach their children, nor would they allow an unqualified doctor to recommend treatment. To tackle fraud effectively we need to be professionally qualified. More than 13,000 counter fraud specialists have now obtained their Government-backed ACFS qualification at Foundation, Advanced, Degree and Masters levels with, interestingly, the 10,000th award being presented by the Attorney-General. The Government’s Fraud Review recommended and the National Fraud Authority is now working towards a single qualification becoming the standard across the economy.
