Companies Act Handbook 2006

The Companies Act 2006 will effectively replace existing company legislation except for that relating to community interest companies and investigations.

The Act is a result of years of effort, drafting and consultation and is intended to be simpler and more accessible than current legislation, and applies to the whole of the UK.

Most of the substance is in the Act itself but there will be certain provisions, for example the form and presentation of ‘Companies Act accounts’, which will be issued as regulations so that they can be amended more easily.
