Ian’s particular area of interest is the charity sector in which he has over 15 years experience. He specialises in audit and advisory work and is a former accountant to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He has a wide grasp of the issues affecting the charity sub –sectors through his work with charity umbrella groups and related membership organisations. He has advised on charity mergers and conducted consultancy assignments both for central and local government.

Ian regularly contributes to the debate on emerging issues and sector consultations through articles in the charity press and speaking at charity sector conferences and umbrella group meetings. He also runs regular client specific charity finance courses and trustee update briefings on developments in the sector.

Outside the firm, Ian is a co-opted member of the Audit Committee of FARM – Africa, a £5 million international development charity that aims to reduce poverty in Africa through developing innovative approaches to natural resource management.
