The latest issue of Forensic Update, our quarterly newsletter on forensic accounting issues, is available now. Our cover story 'Fighting the fraudsters' reveals the degree to which businesses can come under attack – in this case from a disgruntled former employee. The list of damaging misdemeanours is eye-watering – but was met by a similarly comprehensive counter strike from PKF experts.
'A quantum of solace for losses' is our article about making claims for loss of profits, whether from fraud, accident or other events beyond the business's control. This is a highly complex area, and one in which forensic accountants can make a huge difference.
Also featured this issue is an overview of the UK's bribery legislation, soon to be updated. The current legislation is considerably out of date compared to the US, for example, leaving our country much softer on this crime than many perceive. The new legislation is expected to rectify this.
