 School photography specialist Fotek Portraits Limited preparing for liquidation
25 January 2012: The director of Fotek Portraits Ltd, a photography company specialising in school pictures, has instructed PKF Accountants & business advisers to assist him with placing the Company into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.
Swindon-based Fotek Portraits, which has worked with an estimated 3,700 schools across the country since it was established more than 20 years ago, ceased trading last week.
The director has convened meetings of Fotek Portraits’ members and creditors with a view to placing the company into liquidation next Tuesday, 31 January 2012. Once appointed, the liquidators will endeavour to secure a prompt sale of the company’s business and assets in order to maximise the chances of a purchaser honouring existing bookings.
Brian Hamblin, a partner at the Nottingham office of PKF, said: "We realise that many schools will be concerned by Fotek Portraits’ demise and that some are owed money by the company."
"It is anticipated that the liquidators will look to find a purchaser for the business, goodwill and assets, who will honour all of the bookings that have already been made and to maintain the relationships that Fotek established over many years with thousands of schools across the country."
