 Partner promotions at PKF
01 July 2011: Two new partner promotions were announced by PKF Accountants & business advisers today. Laura Shaw (formerly Hampson) will become a partner in the Corporate Finance department, for based in the Bristol and Cardiff offices; while James Hamilton will become a partner in the Forensic Services department in the Leeds office.
Laura has been a Director of Corporate Finance for four years, and was appointed to re-establish the team in the South West and Wales. This included being head of the team providing lead advisory and transaction services to vendors and purchasers.
On becoming a partner, Laura says: “I am delighted at the timing of my appointment: the market appears to have strengthened in recent months, so I’ll be in a position to take real advantage of that. I’m very much looking forward to continuing my work with the teams both regionally and nationally and growing our offering across the South West and Wales. The future for us in the region is looking particularly bright.”
James has been with the firm for four years, having previously worked at both PwC and KPMG, where he developed his forensic expertise. In total James brings 11 years’ experience of performing a range of forensic investigations, which include producing expert evidence and advising clients in connection with complex commercial disputes, including those arising from corporate acquisitions. A confident public speaker, James also gives various presentations and lectures to legal practices on various aspects of forensic accounting services.
James commented: “I am looking forward to further raising the profile of PKF’s practice in Yorkshire and the North East, and continuing to offer first class, cost effective, investigation and dispute resolution support services to the thriving legal and pensions communities in the area.
“We have a very strong team of dedicated forensic specialists at PKF and I am excited about the new challenges ahead in developing this centre of excellence within the region.”
