Budget June 2010

The Chancellor is no doubt pleased that his Budget announcements rather failed to live up to their dire billing: the mixed reception they have received is perhaps the best that he could have hoped for.

Clearly, it is important that businesses get to grips with the corporation tax changes planned for the next few years. Equally, individuals will want to understand the immediate capital gains tax changes. But while many important changes were announced, other key tax issues, such as the tax regime for small businesses and a prospective general anti-avoidance rule, loom on the horizon with numerous consultations planned before the Pre-Budget report on 20 October.
